Miyar Custom Guiding Rates

In addition to our scheduled local and international expeditions, Miyar arranges custom trips or one-on-one guided trips. Our guides have vast climbing and guiding experience and would assist you with every aspect of your trip to make it safe, enjoyable and successful.

If you are doing a 5th class rock or technical ice route we maintain a 1:1 or 1:2 guide to client ratio. If you are doing glacier travel we maintain a 1:3 or 1:4 guide to client ratio, depending upon the experience of trip participants and the level of difficulty and commitment of the route. If the program being offered is purely instructional, it is possible to have a 1:6 guide to client ratio.

Sandeep began his climbing career in the Pacific Northwest, and is always seeking new challenges. He has climbed extensively in the Cascades, stood atop the five volcanos of Washington, and navigated several technical routes such as Liberty Ridge on Rainier and North Ridge on Baker. Sandeep is an avid rock climber and enjoys hard sport climbs as well as challenging multi-pitch alpine routes like the N. Ridge of Mt Stuart. Driven by passion for adventure and new cultural experiences, Sandeep leads expeditions in the Himalayas (India and Nepal) and Kilimanjaro.

His extensive high altitude climbing experience includes reaching several 20,000ft peaks and achieving three first-ascents in the Himalayas. These incredible climbing achievements are due in part to his utmost attention to safety and risk management. As an active volunteer for Mountain Rescue Association, USA, Sandeep is experienced with actual emergency scenarios and he has earned the Life Saving Award for an especially difficult mission. Sandeep also co-organizes and leads charity summits of Mt Rainier for Asha, a non-profit organization helping underprivileged youth in India. Sandeep loves nothing more than to get outdoors, and he thoroughly enjoys guiding others and promoting a fun and safe expedition.

  • Ben Roberts

Ben started mountaineering while still living on the east coast, where training would consist of running up and down staircases in office buildings and Washington DC Metro stations. After falling in love with the Pacific Northwest he moved out to Seattle and began pursuing mountaineering and guiding more rigorously. As a former SCUBA divemaster, Ben has a depth (!) of experience teaching technical outdoor skills.
